- Chaosmosis lecture
So I did a little presentation/lecture today in my friend Kai’s class that revolved around Matthew Fuller’s text “Media Ecologies.” I sometimes find it a bit nerve-racking to go in front of people at school and speak about the things I often feel are trivial or disconnected from conceptual art. I’ve often felt [...]
- Richard Serra - Boomerang (1974)
One of the highlights for me at least last night of John Satrom’s selections was Richard Serra’s piece from 1974 entitled Boomerang.
A woman on what presumably on a TV soundstage speaks freely with a pair of isolating headphones battles a two or three second tape delay. Her confusion in reaction to the constant meddling and [...]
- Roger (Brown) and Me (Part One)
I spent the better half of a day or two visiting the Roger Brown collection for strictly technical reasons. A year or two ago I might’ve not blinked an eye. My exposure to one Mr. Brown was simply through the website I stare at everyday, hawking to the public seemingly innocuous smatterings of paint.
True indeed [...]

Happily, its the kind of general bad feeling that makes blankets, hoodies and warm tea feel x-amounts of wonderful.
The unfortunate [...]
- “Drinking in a hospital is not ok…”
SAIC alumnus, Apichatpong Weerasethakul, director of Mysterious Object at Noon and Tropical Malady, is reportedly in a showdown with the Thai government over his latest film, Syndromes of a Century.  Apparently after submitting it to the Thai censorship board, they’ve held it hostage until four cuts to the film are made.
 From Variety:
“Controversial scenes in the movie [...]
- In the Basement
Most of the time I go with Ursula on photo shoots, I don’t really have much to do other than be annoying and lift stuff. Alot of the time is spent staring down at my sidekick and reading strange websites. Other times its poking around and kicking up dust. I decided to combine the two [...]
- Ursula Sokolowska on Wired Blog
Friend, accomplice and cohabitating cat parent, Ursula Sokolowska, just got a nice mention on Wired magazine ‘table of malcontents’ blog. You can check it out here. Another interesting read is some of her thoughts on art, the internet, and its role in self promotion.
